National Research Ogarev Mordovia State University (MRSU) was founded in 1931. In 2010 the Russian Government awarded OMSU the status of National Research University. In 2015 it was ranked among QS BRICS Top 200 Universities and in 2016 among QS EECA Top 200 Universities

MRSU incorporates 17 academic departments, 7 research institutes and 2 affiliated campuses, fully-fledged research infrastructure, Distance Learning Centre. The student body counts almost 19000. University enrols more than 1000 doctoral students and runs 11 dissertation councils. Teaching staff is almost 1400 people. The University offers over 200 academic programs in life sciences, engineering, humanities, arts and medicine. University awards Bachelor, Master, Doctoral and Post-Doc Degrees and equivalents. MRSU promotes ICT-based research and education.  Quality Management System of MRSU is certified according to the requirements of ISO 9001. In 2012 OMSU was awarded the Recognized Excellence Level by the National Quality Award for Higher Education.

Research groups of university currently work in 22 research fields of science and engineering with the priority areas of energy and power engineering, power electronics, lighting engineering, biotechnologies, nanotechnologies, material sciences, sustainable development, finno-ugric studies.

University scholars carry out large-scale joint innovative projects with leading Russian and international research centres of the Academies of Sciences, Science and Industrial Parks, 8 Russian technological platforms and high-tech industry. The international partner network involves over 90 universities and research centres from 33 countries of the world. National Research Mordovia State University is a member of association of Russian and Azerbaijan Universities, Association of Eurasian Universities, Russian association of Leading Universities, Consortium of Russian and Kyrgys Technical Universities

Role in project

MRSU participates in the Start Off meeting, all PMB meetings and project conferences, contributes to all the discussion and planning and QA procedures.

MRSU plays special role in WP 6 management as a coordinating partner of RF partner universities and is responsible for project management and overall coordination of the consortium partners in RF. MRSU is responsible to ensure the involvement of RF consortium partners and the timely delivery of high standard result.

MRSU hosts training seminar for EXTEND centres staff for RF partner universities (month 6/18).  

MRSU participates in all work packages: WP 1 (all activities, MRSU also summarizes the results of European best practices to make an inventory of tools and approaches applicable for the objectives of the project), WP 2 (establishment EXTEND centre and leads the development of documentation for RF partners, hosts seminar for EXTEND centres for RF partners), WP 3 (all activities, MRSU leads the stakeholders survey for defining the competences of engineering teachers). WP 4 (Quality Plan, MRSU will contribute to development of quality plan, questionnaires and surveys for student and staff for piloting), WP 5 (Dissemination and Exploitation) and WP 6 (Management).

Doctor of Economics, Full Professor, Head of the Quality Management Chair, Dean of Economics Department. Expert of Russian Government Quality Award.

Author of more than 300 research papers and books published in Russia and abroad. Academic coordinator and team member of more than 30 research projects funded by Jean Monnet Program, Erasmus+, Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Russian Foundation for Basic Research. In 2004 she received a grant of the President of the Russian Federation for Young Doctors.

Research domains: Quality Management, Quality of Education, Sustainable Development, Excellence Models.

Elena Soldatova

PhD in Economics, Associate Professor of Management Chair, Economics Department. Author of more than 80 publications, including articles, monographs, study aids, manuals, courseware, etc. She is experienced in implementation of university development programs, project management and administration of international activities of the University. Participated in TEMPUS and Erasmus+ projects. She contributes to the project management issues.

Research domains: International Education, Strategic Marketing and Management, Relationship Management.

Courses delivered: Advanced Management, Strategic Marketing and Management, etc.

Lyudmila Biryukova

PhD in Economics, Associate Professor of Quality Management Chair, Economics Department. Author of more than 75 publications, including articles, monographs, study aids, manuals, courseware, etc. Team member of more than 5 research projects funded by Jean Monnet program, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, and the Russian Humanitarian Foundation. In 2007, she received a grant from the Russian Humanitarian Science Foundation.

Research domains: Quality Management, Quality Audit and Sustainable Development.

Courses delivered: Quality Audit and Conformity Assessment, Risk Management, Formation of the Organization's Quality Management System.

Irina Filippova

PhD in Economics, Associate Professor of Quality Management Chair, Economics Department. Author of more than 60 publications, including articles, monographs, study aids, courseware, etc. Participant of international grants supported by the Jean Monnet Program: The Bologna process – from knowledge to action through interest and aspiration; Lifelong Education for sustainable development.

Alvina Shilkina
