EXTEND Project Goals
EXTEND project is aimed at modernizing approaches to teaching engineering disciplines in Russia and Tajikistan, increasing the quality of education and possibilities of employment for young engineers, students’ motivation and making engineering education attractive. The Project is designed to elaborate the system of university teachers' training according to the principles of Bologna process and European space of higher education. The Project is open for university teachers and post-graduate students, who are planning to be lecturers of higher educational institutions.
EXTEND Project Summary
To monitor Russian and Tajikistan practices in teacher training and competence enhancement (with focus on teaching engineering disciplines) and practices in teaching engineering disciplines.
To study of best European practices in teaching engineering disciplines and teacher competence enhancement.
To develop a comprehensive model and descriptor of the competences of the university teacher of engineering disciplines.
To establish a network of centres of Excellence in Engineering Education (EXTEND centres) offering training courses, methodological research and consultations in teaching engineering disciplines in the Russian Federation and Tajikistan.
To train university teachers in European experience in teaching of engineering disciplines.
To develop and pilot of curriculum and methodology of pedagogical training of PhD students and curriculum and methodology of training-programs for teachers of engineering disciplines.
To prepare and publish a course book with teaching methodologies of engineering disciplines.
To organize study visits to implement project based teaching/learning.
